Tiles
The Tiles component provides a scannable, card-based layout that links users to internal pages, external websites, phone numbers, email addresses, or chat services. Tiles support Image, Illustration, and Icon variants and can inherit content from linked internal pages to reduce content duplication.

Content Inheritance and Fallbacks
When a tile links to an internal Sitecore page, content can automatically be inherited from the linked page if values are not configured on the tile itself.
| Value | Fallback Order |
|---|---|
| Title | Tile Title → Linked Page Title |
| Description | Tile Description → Linked Page Tile Description → Linked Page Description |
| Image | Tile Image → Linked Page Image → Linked Page Promo Image (Image tiles only) |
| Illustration | Tile Illustration → Linked Page Illustration |
| Icon | Tile Icon → Linked Page Icon |
| Tags | Tile Custom Tag → Linked Page Tags |
| Information Bar | Retrieved from the linked page when enabled |
| Theme Colour | Inherited from the linked page theme |
Important Notes
- Fallbacks only apply when the tile links to a valid internal page.
- External links do not inherit content, tags, metadata, or theme colours.
- If the linked page is removed, the tile will only display content explicitly configured on the tile item.
- The component Type determines which media field is used. For example, an Image Tiles group only reads Image fields and ignores Illustration and Icon fields.
Information Bar and Tags
A tile displays an Information Bar when:
- The tile links to an internal page.
- The linked page has Show Information Bar enabled.
- The Tiles datasource does not have Hide Information Bar enabled.
Custom tags configured on a tile override the tags inherited from the linked page. If Hide Information Bar is enabled, neither tags nor Information Bar content will be displayed.
Additional Information
- Tiles can be configured manually using Tile Items or automatically generated using Use Child Items.
- Tiles are displayed in content tree order.
- Phone, Email, and Chat functionality can be configured using the Script and Script Type fields.
- Tile groups can be displayed in either vertical or horizontal layouts.
- The same Tiles datasource can be reused across multiple pages.
